This week's Bearcat Coaches Show highlighted Northwest track & field after last weekend's senior day meet, the spring season heating up for baseball and softball, and an academic angle on the student-athlete.

Northwest track & field had a record-setting weekend hosting the Bearcat Open February 7 and 8. Now they turn their attention to the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kansas with the conference meet just two weeks away. Head coach Brandon Masters joined the show to discuss the team's success.

Bearcat baseball is also on a roll after winning four in a row last weekend and five of six overall. Head coach Darin Loe spoke with John Coffey about Northwest's potent offense that's leading the MIAA in batting average and runs scored.

Northwest softball started fast with a pair of wins on opening day last Friday. The Bearcats were up in Mankato, Minnesota opening the season playing in a dome. This week, Northwest will get outdoors for the first time in Bentonville, AR for four games. Head coach Ryan Anderson was on the program to talk about his club.

The Booth School of Business at Northwest sees a lot of traffic from students with different backgrounds, and student-athletes are no different. A high volume of Bearcats that compete in varsity sports also enter the business field. Dr. Stephen Ludwig, the director of the Booth School of Business, joined the show with some insights on what student-athletes encounter in the classroom, and how the discipline from their respective sport translates to the business field.
